About Us
Japan Evaluation Society (JES) was founded in September 2000 as a voluntary association of scholars, government officials, and practitioners for the purpose of fostering “evaluation culture” in the Japanese society. In March 2004, JES was reorganized to become a specified non-profit organization (NPO) and obtained a corporate status.
JES aims to contribute to the improvement in transparency and accountability of the public sector, as well as the enhancement of the resource management in the private sector.
To accomplish its mission, JES has conducted various activities including i) to publish The Japanese Journal of Evaluation Studies; ii) to hold an annual conference; iii) to organize and support research groups; iv) to develop human resources in evaluation; v) to promote international exchange; and vi) to provide awards for outstanding researchers and practitioners, etc. We ask for your understanding and support and look forward to your participation in JES.
